Raku Matcha was inspired by a trip to Japan and a newfound love for matcha.

The experience of discovering its vibrant flavours, natural energy, and the traditions behind its preparation sparked a passion to bring this authenticity back to the UK.

Upon returning home, the vision was to share the true essence of Japanese matcha—its unmatched quality and craftsmanship—with others.

At Raku Matcha, we bring you the essence of Japan's tea culture with our artisanal-grade matcha, sourced exclusively from Uji, Kyoto Prefecture—a region renowned for its centuries-old tea-growing heritage. Our matcha is carefully crafted, starting with hand-picked, first-flush leaves from shade-grown tea bushes. Using traditional methods and a special roasting process, we bring out its natural sweetness, rich umami, and smooth texture.

Our selection includes two ceremonial-grade matcha blends:

- Hikari: A bright and smooth matcha with naturally sweet and umami-rich flavours, perfect for traditional ceremonial preparation.

- Shōgun: A bold and robust matcha with a pronounced umami profile, ideal for matcha lattes or recipes that call for a stronger flavour.
