A Kayori chawan glazed in deep indigo, the colour of Kyoto at the blue hour. Hand-thrown by T. Nishikawa & Co. and finished with a layered cobalt that shifts from navy at the foot to softer slate at the rim.

Dry immediately
Pat dry with a soft cloth and leave the bowl rim-up to finish drying in air.

Avoid sudden heat
Pour hot water onto a warmed bowl, not a cold one, and the glaze will hold for years.
