A warm earthen Kayori chawan, hand-painted with a fine plum branch on one side and a single pine needle on the other. T. Nishikawa & Co. paint each one by hand in Kyoto, so no two bowls are the same.

Pat dry with a soft cloth and leave the bowl rim-up to finish drying in air.

Pour hot water onto a warmed bowl, not a cold one, and the glaze will hold for years.
