Kayori Matcha Bowl – Ume & Pine

Handcrafted in Kyoto by T. Nishikawa & Co., this bowl is part of the Kayori collection — a series of small, handmade tea bowls designed to sit comfortably in your hand.

The Ume & Pine bowl features hand-painted motifs of pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms — known together as Shochikubai, a symbol of strength, renewal, and beauty in Japanese culture. Decorated with delicate gold detailing, each bowl is painted and glazed by Kyoto artisans, making every piece unique and expressive.

Steps to get your bowl ready:

1 - Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth before first use.

2 - Allow it to air dry completely.

3 - Warm the bowl gently with hot water before preparing matcha.

4 - Avoid pouring boiling water directly into a cold bowl.

How to Store and Clean Your Chawan

- Hand wash only with warm water.

- Avoid dishwasher, soap, or microwave.

- Rinse after each use and dry thoroughly.

- Do not use abrasive sponges.

- Store in a cool, dry place.
