Raku Matcha Bowl – Red Earth

Handcrafted in Kyoto by T. Nishikawa & Co., the Red Earth bowl is a full-sized Raku Ware matcha bowl, larger than the Kayori series and made in the spirit of the Japanese tea ceremony.

Each bowl is formed and fired by hand, producing the natural red and grey tones that define Raku. Its uneven texture and soft contours reflect the beauty of imperfection — wabi-sabi — a philosophy central to Japanese tea culture.

Steps to get your bowl ready:

1 - Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth before first use.

2 - Allow it to air dry completely.

3 - Warm the bowl gently with hot water before preparing matcha.

4 - Avoid pouring boiling water directly into a cold bowl.

How to Store and Clean Your Chawan

- Hand wash only with warm water.

- Avoid dishwasher, soap, or microwave.

- Rinse after each use and dry thoroughly.

- Do not use abrasive sponges.

- Store in a cool, dry place.
