Shōgun & Hikari Set

We’ve paired Hikari and Shōgun, two of our ceremonial-grade matchas from Uji, Kyoto 

Hikari offers a smooth texture with gentle sweetness and a balanced umami flavour. It’s bright and light, ideal for traditional preparation or a clean, refreshing matcha.

Shōgun has a bold, earthy taste with rich umami and a subtle nutty note. It’s perfect for lattes or for those who enjoy a stronger, full-bodied matcha.

How to Make the Perfect Daily Matcha

1 - Measure: Add 1-3g of matcha powder to a bowl (adjust according to your taste).

2 - Whisk: Pour 60ml of hot water (80°C) into the bowl and whisk briskly in a zig-zag motion until a smooth froth forms on top.

 3 - Enjoy: Add 190-220ml of water or milk (warm or cold) to taste.

Mix well and savour your matcha moment.

To preserve the vibrant flavour and quality of your matcha:

1 - Keep It Cool: Store in a cool, dry place, ideally below 25°C. Avoid areas with fluctuating temperatures.

2 - Avoid Moisture: Our containers are specifically designed to be airtight, ensuring your matcha stays protected from humidity that can cause clumping or affect its quality. For best results, we recommend keeping your matcha in its original container to preserve freshness and vibrancy.

3 - Protect from Light and Odors: Keep away from direct sunlight and strong-smelling items, as matcha readily absorbs odors.

4 - Refrigeration: Once opened, store the matcha in the refrigerator to maintain its potency and freshness.
